Issue: After updating the TC Bar firmware to v2.0.2, you see a yellow Unknown Error message in Control Cockpit:
As this update introduces cloud connectivity functionality within Devicehub, it subsequently introduces necessary time server functionality that must be bypassed to clear this status.
If the TC Bar is in a network that allows internet access, the default NTP servers will automatically update the system time, and this warning will clear within minutes. However, since many administrators block internet communication, manual intervention after every firmware update is required.
This Unknown Error does not indicate a device fault, and will not impact performance in any way.
To rectify:
Select the updated TC Bar, and go to the Network tab. Here you can find the device's IP address for control.
Open your browser, and type in:
https://[IP address]
As an example:
This will take you to the Bar's Local User Interface [LUI].
Access the device with the device's password.
Go the Network tab, scroll down to NTP Servers.
NTP Servers are enabled by default; turning this Off will remove the message in Control Cockpit.
Note: In the Maintenance tab you can also update system time. NTP servers must be disabled to do so.
After updating system time, NTP servers can be renabled without the error message reoccurring.
