To recover a portable device (handheld/bodypack transmitter) if a firmware update fails in WSM, navigate to Applications > Firmware Update.
Note: Please make sure you have "Online mode and "Remote Access" checked under the system settings.
Choose your firmware package (.sennpkg) and check the "Recover crashed device" box in the lower left-hand corner. You need to run WSM as an administrator to proceed. To do so- Right-click the WSM icon and select "Run as administrator"
Once you're logged into WSM as an admin and have selected your firmware file, click "Next"
From the list on the left, select a stationary device as the the interface to recover the firmware of your portable device.
Select your portable device model in the drop-down menu on the right.
Click "Start" and keep the SET button pressed on the device.
Briefly interrupt the power supply by pushing the batteries against the contact spring in the battery compartment.
Place the device in question in front of the stationary device with the "Sync" display.
You should see the progress bar moving at this point. Once it is done, you can release the SET button. If successful, the firmware update should be completed the device should return to normal operation.
