There are several reasons why a TCC 2 or TCC M microphone may not appear in Control Cockpit. Use the guide below to help you solve issues:
1. Check the LED light on the unit
The TCC2 has four corner lights, which should be green by default; the TCC M has one LED ring in the center of the microphone.
If not, ensure you are connected to a POE network switch and have enough POE bandwidth, and also rule out a faulty ethernet cable.
2. Check your firewall settings
Ensure essential ports for overall functionality are not blocked. (You can also ask your network administrator/IT personnel to do so)
The TCC 2, TCC M, and Control Cockpit relies on the following ports:
22 SCP/SSH: Certificate management
45 | 6970 UDP | TCP: SSC Sound Control Protocol
69 TFTP: Firmware Update
443 HTTPS – Web UI / Update service
444 HTTPS – Internal Communication Port
5353 UDP mDNS (Multicast 224.0.0.251)
3. Check the IP address
Both the TCC 2 and TCC M, unless statically assigned an IP address at some point prior, will be assigned an IP address via DHCP (by default) and automatically discovered via mDNS. Without a DHCP server present, the assigned IP will fall into a 169.254.x.x / 255.255.0.0 IP range.
In Windows, open the Command Prompt and type arp -a
This will present an overview of all present network devices. Using the Physical Address as a reference point, (which can be found on the back of the TCC 2 + TCC M), you can cross check the device’s assigned IP address in this list.
4. Ping
You can then ping it with the following command: ping [IP address]
If the unit pings successfully, right click and close the Control Cockpit from the task tray by selecting Stop running Service, then right click again to reopen by selecting Start service.
5. Manually adding the IP address
The IP address can also be added in the Devices tab within Control Cockpit if you have its IP address, by clicking the Add device button in the upper right.
6. DHCP
If the PC running Cockpit is set in a static network domain and the Team Connect microphone has not yet been assigned a static IP address within this subnet, the computer will need to be reverted to DHCP in order for the unit to show up in Cockpit.
This can be done by going to Network Connections settings in Windows.
Right click on the appropriate ethernet network and select Properties.
Double click on TCP/IPv4. Select the option to Obtain an IP address automatically.
Now close and reopen the Control Cockpit to prompt re-discovery by right clicking on the Control Cockpit icon in your task tray, and select Stop running Service; then right click on it again and select Start service.
You can then set the unit’s network settings into the proper IP range on the Network tab of the Control Cockpit if desired; after you are done, make sure to set your computer back into this dedicated IP range for future access.
7. Factory Reset
Factory resetting: you can factory reset your TCC 2 or TCC M in order to re-establish mDNS discovery. If you are trying to establish your TCC 2 / TCC M, please note it will revert to its default Automatic IP (DHCP) mode.
With the Control Cockpit closed, hold the reset button on the back of the unit for 10-12 seconds. This will power cycle the microphone.
Once the microphone boots up, ensure your PC is set to Obtain an IP address automatically via DHCP, and reopen Control Cockpit.
