In some cases when you are updating the firmware on an EW-D device, the firmware update may fail, which will cause the device to appear in the app as a corrupt device. This is a failsafe built into the product which allows you to recover if an error occurs during the update. This can happen due to an issue with the Bluetooth connection or if the unit loses power during the update.
If the update fails at any point in the process, you’ll receive a notification from the app. Tap the Okay button to proceed.
This should bring you back to the “Update Devices” screen. You should see your device appear in the list as a corrupted device. If for any reason you do not see the device appearing on this screen, please shut down the app, re-open it and navigate back to the “Update Devices” section.
Tap on the corrupted device to restart the update.
If for any reason the update fails again, you can repeat the process until you are able to complete the update. If you continue to have issues, it is best to try restarting your phone before attempting the update process again.
