The Sennheiser EW-D digital wireless system is supported by firmware updates which allow us to add new features, fix bugs and improve/enhance the operation of the system. It is recommended to ensure the firmware is updated to the latest version for best performance.
To update the EW-D system, you will need to download the EW-D Smart Assist app. The app is available on mobile phone and tablet. It is not available for PC or Mac.

Once you have downloaded the EW-D Smart Assist app, you should be on the dashboard. If not, you can select the dashboard in the bottom left.
If your receiver has been added to the Smart Control app, it may show you that there is an update available. If so, you can tap on the device in the app to update the receiver.
To update a transmitter or an external device that has not been added to the app, tap on the three dots in the upper right hand corner to open the menu. From here select Update Devices
The following screen allows you to update firmware on external devices such as transmitters. To update, tap on the + sigh next to "Search upgradeable devices". A circle icon will start spinning, meaning the app is looking for an external device to update. To start the update, press and hold the sync button on the device you want to update. The app will find the device and will tell you if it is in need of a firmware update.
Tap on the firmware update to download it. You will see a re-sync warning in the app. Once the update is complete, you will need to re-sync the transmitter to the receiver. When the firmware image has finished downloading, you can tap Update to complete the firmware update process.
Once the update is complete you can select "Update more" if you have more devices to update, or you can tap cancel which will bring you back to the main dashboard.
Note: If your phone battery falls below 50% you will not be able to perform firmware updates in the app. You will need to charge your phone before you can update.
