Root Cause:
- Typically, the Base Station does not have direct access to the internet.
Solution:
- Depending on the network infrastructure on the Customer side, following actions need to be taken.
- In administrated, corporate IT networks (companies, organizations): Customer might need to get in contact with its corporate IT administrator/department to give the Base Station access to the internet. Provide the Network & Security Guide (mentioned below) to IT department for proper network configuration.
- In small home-network environments: If the Base Station is connected directly with a PC/Mac (without any router or switch), you have to share the internet connection of your PC/Mac with the Base Station. Sennheiser always recommend using routers or switches to connect the Base Station to existing wired networks.
