Spectera Base Station: Getting Started - Updating firmware and activating the license – Sennheiser

Once you have unboxed your base station and powered it on, there are several steps that must be completed before you can fully set up your system.

After unpacking the Base Station, you must update the firmware before activating a license.

If you haven't done so already, please navigate to Spectera LinkDesk: Application Download, click on application software, and choose the appropriate file for your operating system, to download LinkDesk. LinkDesk is the control software for the base station. Also, while on the same page in application software, download the most current firmware file available. One thing to note, you can also use the WebUI to control the base station, update firmware and activate the license. You can get there by navigating to https://deviceIP/

Once it is downloaded go ahead and install the application.
At this point make sure your base station is connected to the same switch as your computer

Once connected and powered on, you will be guided through adding, claiming, and the update process. Another thing to note, you will need your base stations IP address, you can see this information by navigating through front panel display. Once your firmware is updated, you are now ready to activate the license. Please make sure your Base Station has access to the internet. It will need Internet access to activate the license.

Important! For license activation the Base Station's network port should be connected to your network switch or router, with an active internet connection - connecting the base station directly to your computers network port will not establish the required connection.

Activating the license

The license specifies the country-specific frequency ranges and the RF power.
You can activate a license via LinkDesk or Spectera WebUI.
Only one license per Base Station is possible.
Once your Base Station is added, a new license activation window appears.
Enter your purchased product activation key.
Read and acknowledge the general terms and the end-user license agreement.
Click ENTER to activate the license.
Your license has been activated successfully.
