What is a wireless microphone antenna distribution system?
- A wireless microphone antenna distribution system, often called an "antenna distro," is used to manage and optimize the signals from multiple wireless microphones.
What are the key purposes of an antenna distro?
- Signal Splitting and Amplification: It receives signals from a pair of antennas, splits and amplifies these signals, and then sends them to multiple receivers. This ensures that each receiver gets a strong and clear signal.
- Reducing Interference: By centralizing the antenna system, it helps reduce the likelihood of intermodulation distortion and other signal interference issues that can occur when multiple antennas are crowded together.
- Power Distribution: Many antenna distros also provide power to the receivers, reducing the need for multiple power supplies and simplifying the setup.
- Expanding System Capacity: They allow for the connection of more receivers than would be possible with just the antennas alone. This is particularly useful in large setups where many wireless microphones are in use
Setup and wiring
- Below are 2 different examples of setups, one has multiple distros cascaded together, while the smaller setup just requires one distro.
